Some actions are more effective in reducing suffering and alleviating need than others. George Super Kitchen is a large kitchen that applies simple economies of scale to ensure maximum output on contributions. Instead of 20 “soup” kitchens, having 20 pots, with 20 cooks, each buying at retail prices, we employ one certified chef, buy ingredients in ton quantities direct from manufactures or farmers and cook a couple thousand meals a day. The George Super Kitchen can cook 2,000 nutritious meals every 3 hours in one pot and we have 2 pots!
Every giver, at some point considers whether the cause which they contribute to is worthy and whether it is effective. The worthiness of our cause is a matter of personal and moral perspective, and that we surrender to your judgement, but questions on efficiency we can most certainly defend and assure our sponsors that our processes are well considered, planned, effective and economical to the very last cent.
